GNVV Mission

The Global Nomad Virtual Village (GNVV) is an internet-based, non-profit, organization; a virtual hub or virtual village, that provides global nomads, third culture kids, Foreign Service dependents, military brats,(basically anyone who shares the common bond of growing up in a foreign land)... a permanent "place" to keep in touch. The GNVV is also a repository for global nomad related information and resources. For a more detailed look at our goals please take a look at the GNVV Charter below. Why are we doing this?

• To get connected to others like us.
• For the adventure of creating something that spans the globe. (Besides, travelling back to all the countries that we grew up in is too expensive.)
• We want to help global nomads share their experiences and pass on their legacy to other global nomads.
• We want to find and be in contact with those people whom we knew and who helped us grow into the people we are today.
• To provide a rallying point around which the global nomad tribe can gather.
• To foster ideas, research and appreciation of global nomads.
• To provide information, services, and links to global nomad related resources.

GNVV Charter

• GNVV is made up of global nomads who have gathered to create a Internet based organization for global nomads and their families and friends. GNVV is a virtual hub. We will provide the means for global nomads to keep in touch (primarily via e-mail accounts at gnvv.org).

• We intend to be a focus for global nomad resources, information, identity, and social and commercial resources.

• GNVV celebrates the distinctive global nomad identity by providing a community that promotes the healthy development of such an identity.

• GNVV will freely distribute and collect global nomad related information and anecdotes pertaining to our shared experience. We will provid on-line discussion groups, newsletters, and travel tips. GNVV will consolidate new information on global nomads and provide links to related internet locations.

• GNVV will provide a worldwide global nomad calendar of events, will compile a job bank, will sponsor local events, will provide access to a global nomad database, and will organize home and computer stays for traveling global nomads.

• GNVV will complement annual individual membership contributions by opening a virtual marketplace with global nomad related gifts and by selling permanent e-mail addresses and homepages. GNVV will seek appropriate corporate advertising funds for related services provided.
